Eastwood Goes Into the Tank; Sugita Surging

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Under the gun moved all in for about 58,000, Ryutaro Sugita re-jammed his big stack from the small blind which sent Nick Eastwood in the big blind into the tank.

He toiled over the decision for quite some time as he openly confessed to the table that he had no idea what to do in the spot with just north of ten big blinds and the money bubble starting to loom. Eventually he folded and hid his face, not wanting to see if he would have won.

The under the gun player had {a-}{j-} while Sugita had {3-}{3-}. The board ran out safely for the threes as it came {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}. Eastwood breathed a sigh of relief as he said he folded ace-queen suited as he lived to fight on in Day 3.

Lee Finds a Fold From Firdawcy

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Stanley Lee opened to 12,000 and picked up calls from Hamza Firdawcy in the cutoff and the big blind.

The flop fanned {6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} and it checked to Firdawcy who decided to bet 11,000, only called by Lee. Both tanked a minute and checked on the {10-Diamonds} turn.

The {2-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Lee fired 47,000. Firdawcy thought about it for some time and eventually folded.

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

In a three-bet pot to the {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop with some 72,000 in the middle, Espen Jorstad checked and then called a bet worth 45,000 by Oliver Weis. The duo headed to the {6-Diamonds} turn on which Jorstad gave it some thought before he made it 15,000 to go.

Now Weis went into the tank for around a minute and then splashed in a raise to 145,000, which resulted in the instant fold of Jorstad.

Trost Can't Hold

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

David Peters opened to 11,000 with {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and then jammed as the covering stack after Craig Trost three-bet to 30,000. Trost, with {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}, called.

Peters paired up on the {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} flop to leave Trost drawing to two outs. The {5-Spades} turn and {6-Hearts} river changed nothing and he departed the feature table.

Big Slick Boosts Smith

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Dan Smith opened to 12,000 with his {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} from under the gun and was called by Raman Afanasenka from the button and David Peters in the big blind.

Smith bet 14,000 on the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop and was called by Afanasenka who held the {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Peters mucked his {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

Afanasenka made a pair to go along with his flush draw on the {7-Hearts} turn and called Smith's 45,000 bet.

The {3-Hearts} was a brick and Afanasenka mucked his cards after Smith fired for 70,000.
