Maloney Eliminated by Meeks

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Cliff Maloney was in middle position and ended up getting his chips in against Jacob Meeks in the small blind.

Cliff Maloney: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Jacob Meeks: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop gave Maloney backdoor draws, and he was calling for a heart after the {j-Hearts} turn hit the felt, but the {2-Clubs} completed the board to keep Meeks' ladies in front.

A count by the dealer showed Meeks had 1,015,000 chips and just barely covered his opponent's 1,010,000 chips, sending Maloney to the payout desk.

Lococo Applies Pressure

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Picking up the action after the flop, Alejandro Lococo from under the gun was involved in a hand with George Turner in middle position. With the board reading {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} Lococo checked and Turner bet. Lococo responded with a raise to 240,000, which his opponent called to send the two players to the turn.

Lococo continued his aggression with a bet of 250,000 on the {7-Spades} turn, which was enough to convince Turner to release his hand and keep the Argentine's good start to the day going.

Smith Doubles With Cowboys

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Dan Smith, wearing a Stetson as he often does in tournaments, had opened from under the gun, and he called a shove from Ryutaro Sugita for his last 320,000.

Dan Smith: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Ryutaro Sugita: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

There were no worries on the {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for Smith and he doubled up.

"Aces, kings — double, double!" said Chris Da Silva seated to his direct right.

Duczak Springs Into the Lead After Cracking Aces

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Aaron Duczak

A completed board of {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} was spread across the felt with a fairly large pot between Elliott Kampen and Aaron Duczak already taking place. Kampen threw in a bet of just over 500,000 on the river and Duczak ripped all in.

Kampen wasted little time before making the call and the cards were tabled. Duczak turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a full house while Kampen held {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. After the chips were counted, it was deemed that Kampen was the player at risk for around 2,000,000 chips.

After scooping a monstrous pot on Day 5, Duczak has now put himself in the pole position at the top of the leaderboard.

Labat Holds Strong Against Keating's Aggression

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

There was a raise from the cutoff and Antoine Labat flat-called on the button. Alex Keating took a couple of minutes before counting a three-bet to 200,000 in the big blind. The cutoff quickly folded but Labat still called.

The flop came {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Keating continued with a bet of 175,000. Labat called and the {8-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Keating checked this time and Labat seized the opportunity to slide out a bet of 225,000. Keating mulled it over for a moment but decided to flick his cards into the muck.

Time Nearly Runs Out for Levy

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Action was caught on the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades} board with 425,000 in the pot. Tzur Levy bet 210,000 before Ognyan Dimov jammed for 1,100,000.

Levy went deep into the tank and eventually the clock was called. With five seconds to spare, Levy flicked in the call for his tournament life.

Levy had the {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for top pair while Dimov had an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw. The {a-Spades} river was a safe card for Levy and he won the pot with his pair of kings.

Rast Chipping Up

Brian Rast
Brian Rast

With roughly 1,000,000 in the pot on a {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Clubs} completed board, Brian Rast was in the big blind and moved out a bet which looked to cover Aaron Li's stack of approximately 950,000 on the button.

Li tanked for a minute or two as a television camera focused on the duo to add to the pressure of the situation. Eventually, he sent his cards into the muck and Rast picked up the pot to add to his stack as he continues to chip up early in the day.

Elia Makes Good Fold as Manousoudakis Busts

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Bassam Elia opened to 55,000 from under the gun before Konstantinos Manousoudakis jammed for 590,000 from the hijack. Mayank Madan then shipped in his superior stack from the next seat over.

Elia open-folded pocket jacks to set up the all-in showdown.

Konstantinos Manousoudakis: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}
Mayank Madan: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Madan made top set on the {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and then had his opponent drawing dead on the {4-Hearts} turn. The {a-Diamonds} completed the board and Madan raked in the pot.

Also joining Manousoudakis on the wrong side of the rail were Richard Troendly and Casey Hatmaker.
