Reed's Run Ends Against Kunze

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Robert Reed
Robert Reed

Antoine Labat made it 500,000 to go in the cutoff and Tom Kunze three-bet to 1,400,000 on the button. Robert Reed then jammed for 1,700,000 in the small blind and Labat asked for an exact count before he folded while Kunze beat his table neighbour in the pot thereafter.

Robert Reed: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Tom Kunze: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

"We need a lot of nines," Reed said to his rail but there was no help at all on the {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} runout. Kunze claimed the stack of his table neighbour with aces full and Reed had to settle for 42nd place.

Levine's Chips Go Up in a Blaze

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
David Levine
David Levine

Matthew Su opened to 500,000 in the hijack and Cameron Blazevich three-bet shoved all in for 6,650,000 in the cutoff. David Levine asked for a count from the small blind and realized that Blazevich had him covered. After realizing that there was no immediate pay jump, Levine stuck in the last of his 6,425,000 chips. Su folded and the two hands were tabled.

David Levine: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Cameron Blazevich: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Levine was going to need to get lucky in order to stay alive. The {6-Hearts} on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} on the river provided no relief and Levine was eliminated.

Vadim Rozin
Vadim Rozin

GGPoker qualifier Vadim Rozin opened to 550,000 on the button and Asher Conniff moved all in from the small blind. Rozin called for his stack of 6,100,000.

Vadim Rozin: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Asher Conniff: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop improved Rozin to top set, and although the {7-Hearts} turn gave Conniff a gutshot draw, the {7-Spades} completed the board to confirm Rozin's double.

Kim Busts Funaro

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Frank Funaro
Frank Funaro

Brian Kim raised to 525,000 from middle position and Matthew Shepsky three-bet to 1,600,000 from the small blind. Frank Funaro committed his last 1,280,000 from the big blind and Kim called. Action was three ways and Funaro was at risk.

The flop was {9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} and both remaining players checked to see {j-Hearts} on the turn. Shepsky checked again and ducked out of the way when Kim bet 1,130,000.

Frank Funaro: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Brian Kim: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}

Kim was ahead and it stayed that way when {4-Hearts} fell on the river to eliminate Funaro from the Main Event with aces and jacks.

Altman Rockets Li To The Rail

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Victor Li
Victor Li

Victor Li moved all in for his last 3,150,000 from the cutoff and was called by Joseph Altman on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Li was officially at risk.

Victor Li: {2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Joseph Altman: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Li was in bad shape, needing a lot of help to survive. None came on the {9-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop or {k-Diamonds} turn. The {9-Spades} river was the final nail in the coffin, bringing the curtains down on what has been an impressive run by Li.

Baime Busts to Birthday Boy

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Birthday Boy Asher Conniff
Birthday Boy Asher Conniff

Asher Conniff opened to 500,000 in the hijack and Kenneth Baime moved all in for 2,050,000 on the button. Action folded back to Conniff who called.

Kenneth Baime: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Asher Conniff: {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}

It was a flip, and the {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop kept Baime ahead. However, the {q-Clubs} turn left him needing a river trey, and the {4-Spades} completed the board to eliminate him. Conniff's rail then broke out into song and sang "Happy birthday to you", as the recipient of the pot recently turned another year older at midnight.

Dobric Takes With Trip Eights

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Brian Kim raised to 525,000 from the cutoff and Nathanael Kogel called from the button before Matija Dobric came along from the big blind.

The flop was {k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and action checked to Kogel on the button, where he put out a bet of 825,000. Dobric called and Kim folded. The turn was {8-Spades}.

Dobric bet 1,118,000 on the turn and called when Kogel made it 2,550,000. The river was {6-Hearts}.

Dobric fired 3,000,000 at the river and Kogel called after a long deliberation. Dobric turned over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} to take the pot with trip eights.

Ong Eliminated by Eames

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Dingxiang Ong flat-called a raise by John Eames and then called three barrels throughout a board of {9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} including the shove by Eames on the river. Once the Brit rolled over the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for aces and fives, Ong briefly exposed his {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and silently pushed his chips over to the table neighbour before heading to the payout desk.

Jorstad Won't Back Down to Jeckeln

Level 31 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

On the last hand before the break, Andres Jeckeln raised it up to 500,000 on the button and Espen Jorstad re-raised to 2,000,000 in the small blind. Jeckeln called and the dealer fanned the flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Both players checked and the {3-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Jorstad led out with a bet of 1,625,000 and Jeckeln raised to 3,500,000. Jorstad called and the {7-Diamonds} completed the board.

Jorstad checked this time and Jeckeln quickly checked it back. Jorstad flipped over {j-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair and Jecklen had to concede the pot.
