Abbas Alikhani Eliminated in 23rd Place ($6,200)

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Abbas Alikhani
Abbas Alikhani

One hand after sending Mark Liedtke to the payout desk, Abbas Alikhani came along out of the small blind when Gregory Wish raised from under the gun. Alikhani check-raised the {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop from 25,000 to 70,000 and Wish asked for the approximately stack size of his opponent before making the call.

Alikhani bet the {2-Diamonds} turn for 100,000 and received a reluctant call by Wish, then jammed the {4-Diamonds} on the river. Wish snap-called and was shown the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a set of eights by Alikhani, which he had beat with the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the king-high diamond flush.

Alikhani's tournament ended in 23rd place, for which he receives $6,200.

Mark Liedtke Eliminated in 24th Place ($6,200)

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Mark Liedtke
Mark Liedtke

Mark Liedtke pushed a short stack and Abbas Alikhani glanced at one card in the big blind prior to asking for a count. Once the all-in amount was confirmed, Alikhani checked the second card and then called instantly.

Mark Liedtke: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Abbas Alikhani: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades} and that spelled the end for Liedtke in 24th place for $6,200.

"It looked like a slowroll," other players at the table remarked to Alikhani, who was somewhat surprised and mentioned he had only checked one card and saw a king.

Bauer Doubles Through Cowen

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Erik Bauer
Erik Bauer

Robert Cowen made it 27,000 to go in the cutoff and then called the three-bet shove by Erik Bauer in the small blind for 154,000 total.

Erik Bauer: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Robert Cowen: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop gave Cowen more equity with a pair and back door hearts. However, both the {2-Clubs} turn and the {8-Diamonds} river changed nothing whatsoever and the aces held up for the double.

Level 19 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Abbas Alikhani
Abbas Alikhani

Mark Liedtke raised to 25,000 in the hijack and was called by Joanthan Woof on the button and Abbas Alikhani in the big blind. The flop brought {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} and it checked to Woof, who bet 32,000 to win the pot.

One hand later, Liedtke opened once more and then called the shove by Alikhani for 158,000 out of the small blind.

Abbas Alikhani: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Mark Liedtke: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The kicker played a pivotal role on the {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Clubs} board as Alikhani doubled and left Liedtke short.

Kolev Chips Up Before the Break

Level 18 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Christopher Bissinger had previously already lost a bigger pot after the three table redraw and then raised it up from the hijack. Benjamin Kaupp three-bet to 67,000 in the cutoff and Bissinger called after very short consideration. On the {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Bissinger checked and then folded when Kaupp continued for 26,000.

In the last hand over on table 671, Yuliyan Kolev bet the {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} turn out of the big blind. Mark Liedtke called in the cutoff and Kolev then bet again the {6-Diamonds} river for 115,000. Liedtke gave it some thought and eventually folded some five minutes into the break. Kolev offered to show one card and Liedtke exposed the {5-Clubs}.

John Duke
John Duke

Eric Smidinger raised to 20,000 from middle position and John Duke jammed his last 74,000 from the button. The buttons got out of the way and Smidinger called. Action was heads-up with Duke at risk.

John Duke: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Eric Smidinger: {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and the pair of aces was good for Smidinger to knock Duke out of the tournament in 26th place for $6,200.

David O'Callaghan: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Ryan Messick: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
