The 2023 World Series of Poker at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas enters the second week, which brings with it new opportunities to compete for one of the coveted WSOP gold bracelets. Among them is also Event #19: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout, set to get underway at 12 noon local time.
One year ago, this tournament attracted a field of 752 entries for a total prize pool of $1,673,200. The top 113 finishers earned a portion of the prize money and American poker pro Scott Seiver earned his fourth gold bracelet after defeating Alexander Farahi in heads-up play. The victory came with a payday of $320,059 and Seiver narrowly missed out on a fifth career bracelet soon after when finishing second in Event #38: $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship.
Mixed game and high-stakes specialist Seiver has more than $25 million in cashes to his name, of which more than $6 million come from 64 results at the WSOP and two at the WSOPE. He has already participated in events of the 2023 series in Sin City, but not recorded any deep runs yet.
Further finalists one year ago included [Removed:532], Chris Hunichen, Lewis Spencer, Nick Schulman, Sergio Aido, Steve Zolotow, and David Goodman. Among them, Schulman already made the headlines during the ongoing festival after he earned his fourth bracelet in Event #9: $1,500 Seven Card Stud three days ago.
All participants receive 35,000 in chips and there will be a 20-minute break every three levels with a 60-minute dinner break scheduled at the end of level 9 at approximately 6:40 p.m. local time. The tournament features a total of 17 levels of 40 minutes each on Day 1, during which the money stages may be reached. Late registration for this freezeout tournament is open for the first 12 levels and following break until approximately 10 p.m.
As of Day 2, the level duration increases to 60 minutes each with ten levels scheduled or until the ten-handed unofficial final table has been reached, whichever comes first.
