Brian Hastings Bubbles Event #20: $1,500 Badugi

Level 18 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 0 ante
Brian Hastings
Brian Hastings

William Toh opened from middle position and was called by Marcel Vonk on the button. Brian Hastings then tossed his last couple chips into the middle in the big blind to put himself at risk.

Hasting took two on the first draw while Toh drew one and Vonk stood pat. The two active players in the hand then checked to the second draw.

The second draw saw Hastings and Toh take one with Vonk again standing pat. Toh and Vonk then checked to send action to the final draw.

Hasting drew one final card on the last draw with Toh following suit. Unsurprisingly, Vonk declined to draw. Both Toh and Vonk checked to showdown with all three players keeping their hands facedown as the floor confirmed hands at all other tables were complete. Once the tournament director gave the go ahead, Hastings turned over 443A, which was good enough to beat Toh's 982A but not the Q1074 of Vonk, ensuring that Hastings will be the last player not to get paid in the tournament.

Aldemir Pats Down

Level 18 : 3,000/5,000, 0 ante

Adam Owen opened in middle position before Koray Aldemir three-bet in the cutoff. The button and blinds got out of the way to send the action back to Owen who called.

Owen took one on the first draw while Aldemir stood pat. The British pro then checked and called after Aldemir tossed out a bet.

The same drawing and betting pattern took place on the second draw with Owen once again taking one on the final draw. Both players checked and Aldemir tabled QJ63 for a winner to boost his stack as the bubble approaches.

Dan Zack

Action was folded to Tom Schneider in the cut-off, who raised. He got a single call from Dan Zack in the big blind. Both players took one and checked.

They took one more and this time Zack led out, getting an instant fold.

Zack is starting to look dangerous as the field gets close to the money.
