Burke Wins a Big One

Level 17

Wiliam Burke: Ax7x2x/4x6xKxQx
John Cernuto: Ax4xQx/8x5x5x2x
Tomasz Gluszko: XxXx/9x2xKx10x -folded sixth street

After Tomasz Gluszko and John Cernuto limped behind the bring-in, William Burke completed and got calls from each player minus the bring-in.

Burke bet out with the lead on fourth street which got calls from each opponent, and then with no player catching particularly well on fifth, Burke bet again. Neither opponent folded and the trio went to sixth street.

With Gluszko picking up the betting lead on sixth, he elected to check and it was Cernuto who now bet. Burke called, but Gluszko released his hand.

On seventh street, Burke now bet with the lead and got a call from Cernuto. Burke showed a seven-six that he had made on the end, while Cernuto frustratedly showed his eight-five which ended up in the muck.

Ogura's Perfect Hole Cards Push Liberto to the Brink

Takashi Ogura: Ax4x5x/7x2x2xQx
Justin Liberto: XxXx/Ax3xQx9x/Xx

Liberto bet out on fifth street when Ogura paired his deuce, but Ogara was not dissuaded.

Again Liberto tried on sixth when he hit a nine to Ogura's queen. But Liberto's check on seventh drew a bet from Ogura, and when Ogura showed the 75, Liberto sighed and pitched his cards.

Trivett Takes Out a Tanker Named Teemu

Level 17

Teemu Kangasvieri: 5x4x/Kx6x9x5x/Qx
Michael Trivett: Ax5x/6xJxAx10x/7x

After Michael Trivett completed, a short-stacked Teemu Kangasvieri defended his bring-in and then faced a bet on fourth and another on fifth that was for the last of his chips.

Kangasvieri was in the tank for a couple of minutes before calling to put himself at risk.

Trivett ended up making a ten, while his Finnish opponent bricked out to make only a queen and was eliminated.

After the hand, the players seemed pleased with the elimination as discussions were had about the pace of play and repeated tanking of their now fallen tablemate.
