Brian Borst was in the small blind when the cutoff player raised to 5,500 and Borst immediately shoved in the rest of his stack for about 14,000 and the cutoff called.
Brian Borst: K♣K♥
Cutoff Player: 8♠10♠
The board played out 5♦A♥4♦7♥7♠ and the kings held up to give Borst a much needed boost.
Joe Cada went all in for his remaining 33,000 from middle position and was isolated by the all in of David Yonnotti, the rest of the table folded.
Joe Cada: A♦K♦
David Yonnotti: A♠J♦
The flop came out clean for Cada as it rolled, 10♣A♥4♦. The former Main Event winner remained stoic as the J♥ rolled off and his only reaction when the 9♥ peeled was to collect his belongings and go on his way.
The early position player raised preflop to 4,500 and the player in the cutoff, Jesse Lott called and the big blind player called.
The flop came Q♠8♠6♦ and the action began. The big blind checked, the early position player checked and Lott bet 6,500. The big blind called and the early position player reraised to 28,500. Lott did not take long to place his stack of 62,500 in the middle and the big blind went into the think tank and asked for a chip count before he folded. The early position player called quickly.
Jesse Lott: 8♦8♥
Early position player: A♥Q♦
The turn and river were 10♥8♥ which gave Lott the quads for the win.
Johnnie Moreno, Martin Zamani, and Jared Jaffee were all seated at the same table, but upon PokerNews returning, only Moreno remained seated.
It's reported that Zamani lost with QxQx to someone's AxKx, a classic flip, and that Jaffee had his aces cracked by kings when a four-liner to the straight came.
Late registration has come to a close and we can expect many a bust out by the end of day.
It folded around to Cottrell van Wingerden, who was in the small blind, he made the call. The big blind tapped the table and a flop of J♣9♦7♠ was presented to the players. Wingerden checked, as did the player in the big blind.
The turn was the A♠ and Wingerden checked again. The big blind then placed a bet of 4,500 and Wingerden called. The river brought the 9♣ and, for the final time, Wingerden tapped the table. He was then presented with a bet of 11,500, which he raised to 30,000 after a thoughtful moment.
Wingerden now have four starting stacks to work with and continues to peck away at his opponent.
