Torres Takes Down a Multi-Way Pot

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

With a flop of 9AQ, a quick check led to Raul Torres leading out for 1,200. The next acting player made it 5,000 to go with the two remaining players calling.

The turn changed little but the 2 added a flush draw to the board. With early position again checking, Torres took the lead, firing 6,500, with both players calling to the river.

A 10 on the river completed a few possible straight draws. Yet, after a third check from early position, Torres announced he was all in for 20,900. After careful consideration, both players conceded the pot to Torres who announced "A set of Queens beats me." With this pot, Torres gained an early chip lead putting his total at approximately 56,000.

Baby Flush Pays in Spades for Philippe

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Actions started with three players going to the flop for 2,600 each.

A wet board of 8J4 led to both early position players checking. Anthony Philippe bet 2,600 as Jason L, one seat behind him, opted to call.

The 10 on the turn completed the flush draw as Jason led out for 8,500. With little contemplation, Philippe called to the river.

A 10 on the board completed possible trips and full house draws, as Jason again led out this time for 17,000. After careful consideration, Philippe chose to call the bet. Jason flipped over A10 for trips with top kicker. Philippe then showed 35 for a flush taking down the pot of approximately 55,000.

Katzinger Scoops Large Multiway Pot

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

There is a limp in early position and Garrett Katzinger bet 1,200 from the hijack. Both blinds called and so did an early position player.

After a flop of J3J, both blinds checked before the early position player opted to lead for 1,500. Katzinger called, the small blind folded, and the big blind called.

The turn 6 rolled off and when the action checked to the early position player he continued for 3,000. Katzinger then raised to 10,000. The small blind announced "all in." The next player took some time, then folded. Katzinger looked to have a tough decision, but ultimately put in the call.

Both players tabled their hands with Katzinger showing KJ and the small blind showing J4.

The 7 river brought no help and the small blind hit the rail.

Katzinger's kicker played, he won the hand, and gets more than a double up.
