Thurston Finds a 9 to Stay Alive

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Facing early position, Dave Thurston went all in for 60,300 looking for a quick double up or blind steal. After a couple of folds, a late position player quickly went over the top all in. With all other players getting out of the way, Thurston flipped over K9 as his opponent revealed AK. Thurston would need a 9, or flush in order tostay within the tournament.

A low flop of 537 left Thurson needing a 9 or running clubs. However, he would not have to wait long as the turn came a 9 followed by the Q. With this double up, Thurston amassed a stack of 130,600.
