Berkey Double Barrels

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

Action was opened by Matt Berkey in early position to 10,000. Every player folded except the big blind who defended. The players were off to a flop heads up.

The dealer burned and turned the KAK flop and action checked through.

The turn came the J and the big blind checked again. Berkey now hit the gas pedal and bet out for 11,000. The big blind thought for a moment and made the call.

The river landed a relative blank in the 5 and the big blind checked once more. Berkey thought for only a moment before putting out a bet of 25,000.

The player in the blinds thought for about a minute but eventually made the fold. Berkey scooped and chipped up as the players get below the 200 runners remaining mark.

Barbero Doesn't Go For Value on the River

Level 14 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

With the pot standing at approximately 40,000 both Galen Hall in the small blind and Jose Ignacio Barbero in the hijack checked the action to Yasuhiro Waki on the button who opted to check behind to a turn.

The full board now read 2A42. With the action checked to Barbero, he led out for 14,000 with only the Hall continuing.

The 6 fell on the river and the action checked through. Hall showed J9 while Barbero showed A7.

Once the pot was shipped his way, Barbero was quick to announce he thought his play was a "nitty check-back".

Ausmus Puts in the Cold Four

Level 12 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Jeremy Ausmus
Jeremy Ausmus

There was an open to 6,500 from middle position. Next to act put in the cold three bet to 18,000. When action made its way to Jeremy Ausmus on the button he did some accounting of his chips, did some accounting of his opponent's and then put in the cold four bet to 40,000.

The player in middle position folded and action was on the three bettor. He chuckled as he put out the 40,000 with only about 9,000 back.

The Q10J was about to hit the felt and Ausmus already had 10,000 in chips out to signify he was putting his opponent all in regardless of the flop. His opponent made the call and the cards hit their back.

Three bettor: A4
Jeremy Ausmus: KK

The turn was an 8 and the river was a 4 and Ausmus sent his opponent to the rail.
