Filippi Plays It Bad, Still Wins

Level 11 : Blinds 500/1,000, 0 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Michael Dobbs raised to 3,500 from the button and Amnon Filippi called in the big blind.

The flop came 86K and Filippi checked over to Dobbs, who bet 5,300. Filippi tanked for a moment before he tossed in a call.

Both players checked the 9 turn before Filippi led out for 8,000 on the 10 river. Now it was Dobbs' turn to tank before he called.

"I played this hand as bad as I could possibly play it," Filippi said as he first turned over K10. "Do you have a straight," Filippi asked, but Dobbs only showed K10 for the same two pair.

Filippi then turned over the K for top set. "Sorry, I didn't mean to slowroll you," he told Dobbs as he took the pot.

"I probably would've gone away. You actually played it perfectly," Dobbs replied.

Scott Bohlman and Scott Clements are both sitting with big stacks at this table.

Ohel Scoops Three-Way Pot

Level 11 : Blinds 500/1,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Shirin Oskooi opened from the cutoff and was called by Randy Ohel in the small blind before Allan Le three-bet out of the big blind. Both Oskooi and Vanderpoorten called to keep action three-way heading to the flop.

Ohel checked on the 339 flop, prompting Le to continue his earlier aggression with a bet. That did not convince either of his opponents to get out of the way as both Oskooi and Ohel called.

Action checked through the Q turn to the 10 river, at which point Ohel bet out. He was met by a quick fold from Le but Oskooi tossed in calling chips. Ohel showed down A325 for flopped trips, sufficiently strong to take down a large pot.
