Bohlman Sends Filippi Out

Level 12 : Blinds 800/1,600, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Amnon Filippi tossed his final 900 into the middle from under the gun before Scott Bohlman raised from middle position. Scott Clements called in the big blind to send action three-way to the initial draw.

All three players took two cards on the first draw. Clements then bet and was called by Bohlman.

As on the previous draw, each player took the same number of cards on the second draw but this time they all opted for one. Clements then bet again and called after Bohlman raised.

Clements and Filippi both took one more card on the final draw while Bohlman stood pat. Action then checked to Bohlman who bet, getting a quick fold from Clements. Bohlman tabled 76542, a hand that Filippi could not beat, sending him to the rail well short of the money.

Max Kruse: XxXx/97Q9/Xx

Carol Fuchs bet on fourth street and was called by Adam Friedman and Max Kruse. Fuchs was all in on fifth as Friedman and Kruse called and built a side pot.

Kruse bet on both sixth and seventh as Friedman called. Kruse turned over J36 for a flush, while Friedman had 248 for a low.

"I need to improve. Nope, I'm out," Fuchs said as she peered down at her hole cards before tossing them into the muck.

"Why no raise? You can't lose," tablemate Peiwen Wang asked Friedman.

"It's a waste of time. I knew he had the flush. His hand was face up," Friedman replied.

One year removed from a rough summer, Daniel Negreanu is fighting his way back to within striking distance in the Player of the Year race — sort of — and he's doing so with large field event success.

At the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP), the Poker Hall of Famer lost $1.1 million and was never in contention for Player of the Year. He isn't really in contention yet this year, but he isn't too far off from getting to that point.

Brunner Wins After Confusion

Level 12 : Blinds 800/1,600, 0 ante

2-7 No-Limit Single Draw

Stephan Nussrallah limped from early position, prompting a player in the big blind to object as, in the past, limping has not been allowed in 2-7 No-Limit Single Draw. The floor, having been called, clarified that as of this year, limping is permitted. Brian Brunner raised to 5,000 on the button with Nussrallah making the call.

Nussrallah took two while Brunner stood pat after which Nussrallah checked and then folded to a bet of 5,000 from his opponent.
