Adcock Scores Double Up, Lets Everyone Know

Level 38 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante

Joshua Adcock wasn’t in the mood for Julien Loire raising his big blind on the first hand after the dinner break.

After Loire made it 2,500,000 to go, Adcock three-bet all in for his remaining 22,000,000, which Loire called to put Adcock at risk.

Joshua Adcock: A5
Julien Loire: A9

“We need a five,” Adcock turned and said to his supporters on the rail.

The dealer fanned A62 on the flop, keeping Loire ahead. The 3 on the turn kept hope alive for Adcock with a gut-shot straight draw, but then 5 arrived on the river to seal it for Adcock, who doubled up and let out his excitement.

“Hop-Town!” Adcock screamed in reference to his hometown, Hopkinsville, Kentucky. “Let’s go! It’s my time!”

Level 38 : Blinds 600,000/1,200,000, 1,200,000 ante
Jonathan McCann
Jonathan McCann

After an open from Joe Cada to 2,400,000, Jonathan McCann raised to 16,000,000, which left him 1,000,000 behind.

Acton folded back around to Cada who then tossed in chips to make the call and began to flip his hand over but realized McCann was not all in yet.

Cada then bet 1,500,000 in the dark as the flop came out 867. McCann then went into the tank for a good 30, seconds, debating if this was the moment to get the rest of his chips in.

He eventually made the call to put his tournament life at stake and the cards were on their back.

Jonathan McCann: AQ
Joe Cada: AK

The run out of A4 awarded Cada the pot with his superior ace and and McCann was eliminated in 12th place.

Gerrity Muscling Up

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante

After a redraw with 10 players remaining, Nicholas Gerrity entered the unofficial final table as the overwhelming chip leader with 102,000,000.

The next closest is 2009 WSOP Main Event champion Joe Cada, who has 48,000,000.

Gerrity has the chips and he’s putting them to use. And adding little pots.

On at least three occasions, he raised preflop. Two of those instances didn’t result in a flop and he was able to secure blinds and antes, while the other time did. But after the opponent checked, Gerrity’s continued aggression in position with a bet on the flop took it down.

Rockowitz Bombs Turn

Level 39 : Blinds 1,000,000/1,500,000, 1,500,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of 2106, Jesse Rockowitcz had checked over to Yulian Bogdanov who then bet 2,500,000.

Rockowitz then put in a check-raise to 7,500,000 and Bogdanov went into the tank momentarily before deciding to make the call.

The 8 came on the turn and Rockowitz quickly moved all in, which prompted a hasty fold from Bogdanov to award him the pot.

Jesse Rockowitz raised 3,000,000 under the gun, and his action set off a chain reaction.

Kirk Banks, the shortest stack at the table, moved all in for his remaining 8,000,000. Then, Joshua Adcock four-bet all in for his remaining 22,000,000. Rockowitz immediately mucked his hand after action folded back to him and the cards were tabled.

Kirk Banks: A10
Joshua Adcock: JJ

The dealer ran out 45296, giving Adcock the hand.

Banks finished the tournament in 10th place for $89,644.

After losing a big hand to Jesse Rockowitz, short-stacked Yulian Bogdanov moved all in preflop and was called by Julien Loire to put him at risk of elimination.

Yulian Bogdanov: KQ
Julien Loire: A10

Bogdanov needed some help to catch up to Loire's ace-high, but the runout of 655104 could not do it and he was eliminated in 9th place.
