Tens Good for Shakerchi

Level 16

No-Limit Hold'em

Nacho Barbero opened to 35,000 from under the gun and received a lone caller in the form of Talal Shakerchi in the small blind.

Shakerchi checked on a flop of 2A6 and then called when Barbero continued for 35,000.

Action checked through the 5 turn to the 6 river at which point Barbero checked once more. Shakerchi pushed a small bet of just 35,000 into the middle and, after some time, Barbero made the call only to muck once Shakerchi turned over 1010.

Uneventful Round of Razz at Feature Table

Level 16

Razz

A full orbit of Razz was just "played" at the feature table.

Five bring-ins folded to a completion with no action beforehand and one hand making it to fifth street, before a second bet from Daniel Alaei with three to a wheel showing folded out Ray Dehkharghani, who had called fourth street before picking up a brick on the first big bet street.

The table is now moving to Pot-Limit Omaha and with two of the shortest stacks remaining in Phil Hellmuth and John Monnette at the table, business could soon pick up still two away from the bubble.

Flush for Arieh; More Chips for Shakerchi

Level 16

Limit Hold'em

Having defended out of the blinds against the raise by Hal Rotholz, it was Josh Arieh who check-raised the K843 turn and then bet the J river. Rotholz called both times but mucked when he was shown the 107 for a flush.

One table over, Johannes Becker lost another showdown pot to drop down further.

Seven Card Stud

Talal Shakerchi: XxXx / Q89Q / Xx
Johannes Becker: XxXx / 39J7 / Xx

Talal Shakerchi bet fifth and sixth street against Becker before they checked down seventh. Shakerchi showed his A102 in the hole and won the pot with his open board, which was a pair of queens.

Three-Quarters for Rast

Level 17
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Omaha Hi-Lo

Brian Rast raised from early position and was called by Talal Shakerchi in the big blind.

The pot began to build on the 492 flop when Shakerchi check-raised a bet from Rast, prompting Rast to put in a third bet, which Shakerchi called.

Shakerchi then check-called a bet on the A turn and then once again on the 7 river.

Shakerchi showed down AK103 which would be good for a quarter of the pot, as Rast tabled AJ73 for two pair and the matching low.

Dehkharghani River Raise Puts Hellmuth to the Test

Level 16
Ray Dehkharghani
Ray Dehkharghani

Pot-Limit Omaha

Phil Hellmuth raised the pot to 55,000 from early position and was called by Ray Dehkharghani in the big blind.

Both players checked the 2J4 flop and then Dehkharghani check-called a bet of 60,000 from Hellmuth on the K turn.

However, Dehkharghani would turn up the heat on the 2 river with a check-raise to 400,000, enough to put Hellmuth all-in, after Hellmuth bet 50,000.

This would send Hellmuth deep into the tank, taking close to six minutes before deciding to fold.

Monnette Jams Over Ivey

Level 16

Pot-Limit Omaha

John Monnette limped under the gun, as did Daniel Alaei in the hijack. Phil Ivey then potted it to 85,000 on the button.

With action back on Monnette, he back-raised all in for 295,000, which got a quick fold from Alaei, and another one from Ivey to chip up a bit without seeing a flop.

Hellmuth Flops a Set

Level 16

Pot-Limit Omaha

After limps from Daniel Alaei under the gun, Marco Johnson in the hijack, and Phil Hellmuth in the small blind, John Monnette checked his big blind.

The quartet of stars saw a flop of 310A and action checked to Alaei who bet 25,000. Only Hellmuth called to see the K on the turn.

Before the card was dealt though, Hellmuth checked dark and Alaei then checked back.

Hellmuth also checked the J river, as did Alaei, with Hellmuth then showing Q332 for a flopped set of threes, which was good enough to earn a small but necessary pot.
