Moncek Denied a Double by Drinan's Phone

Level 10

Big O

Heads-up on a board of 7858Q, Connor Drinan tossed out two red 5,000 chips before Michael Moncek, under the gun, announced pot and moved all in for around 38,000.

Drinan quickly called and turned over AKJ83 for a king-high flush with the second-best low. Moncek, though, had AQQ42 for the rivered full house and the nut low as he scooped the pot.

Drinan was preparing to hand over a full double up to Moncek before he began questioning the size of the pot and took out his phone to calculate it. He figured out that Moncek should've only been allowed to raise to 31,000 on the river, so Drinan took 7,000 back.

"Dooley" The Victor in a Heads Up Duel

Level 10

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

The under the gun player limped as did another player in early position. Abdullah "Dooley" Al-Shanti potted to 2,800 and the under-the-gun player called to see a 8J6 flop.

The under-the-gun player checked to Al-Shanti who quickly potted again. Under the gun re-potted and Al-Shanti quickly pushed his chips forward to put himself all in and at risk headed to a runout.

Abdullah Al-Shanti: AKJ3
Under The Gun: A752

With a lot of cards that would give his opponent the whole pot, Al-Shanti needed to dodge some bullets on the turn and river.

The runout came 8 and 6, missing everything for his opponent and allowing Al-Shanti to scoop the entire pot for a full double.

As he made it clear that he had gotten lucky to hold for the scoop, he told the table, "What can I say? I'm uncoachable!" which got a good laugh from his tablemates before he turned to his direct right to ask non other than Max Pescatori, "Would you coach me, bro?"

With a couple deep runs and six cashes so far this summer, it's safe to say that "Dooley" is having a blast at the 2023 World Series of Poker.

Level 11

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Jermaine Reid and Sam Farha are currently sitting on stacks that tower over the rest of the table. Reid has just taken a pot off Faria.

"Now I have a story to tell. I slowrolled Sam Farha with the nuts," Reid said with a laugh. "Okay, I didn't have the nuts. Let's go with that."

As Reid and Farha shared a laugh, Farha got involved in another four-way pot on a flop of AK5. All four players checked to the 3 turn, where Farha bet 3,000 on the button.

Only a player under the gun called, and he quickly checked over. Farha checked back.
