Kessler Gets Quartered

Level 16 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Big O

Ben Tang limped in the cutoff along with Allen Kessler from the small blind. The big blind checked their option and all three saw a 752 flop.

Kessler and the big blind checked over to Tang who bet out 3,000. Kessler called and the big blind folded, leading to a 2 turn card.

Kessler and Tang both checked through to the 3 river, which saw Kessler lead for the first time in the hand with a bet of 5,000. Tang answered back by potting to put Kessler all in and after about five seconds, Kessler said, "Wow," before sliding his chips into the pot.

Kessler showed the 1010643 but was sharing the same high hand (six-high straight) with Tang's A6654 with Tang also holding the nut low.

Tang chipped up nicely in the hand while Kessler started the day getting quartered.

Omaha Hi-Lo

Jared Hemingway raised in the hijack and was called by Andrew Seabright on the button and Scott Clements in the big blind.

The flop came 23J and Hemingway continued with a bet. Both Seabright and Clements called to the 2 turn.

Action checked to Seabright and he bet. Clements now came back with a raise and both opponents called. Clements led out on the 2 river and only Hemingway called this time.

Clements turned over J1072 for quad deuces and took the pot.

"That's how you become chip leader. Defend the big," a tablemate said following the hand.

Castelluccio Bakes Up A Win

Level 17 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

David "Bakes" Baker raised from the cutoff and got called by Scott Castelluccio on the button and the player in the small blind to bring out a AK9 flop.

The small blind checked to Baker who continued with a bet. The button called before the small blind folded, taking the duo to the A turn card.

Level 17 : Blinds 1,500/2,500, 2,500 ante

Big O

Action folded to Nolan Houser in the small blind who raised to 7,000. Adam Hendrix called from the big blind to see a 995 flop.

Action checked through to take both players to the 6 turn card.

Houser led out for 5,000 but was quickly met with a pot-sized reraise to 31,500 from Hendrix. Houser counted out his chips as he considered his action and arrived at a decision to raise for the rest of his chips.

Hendrix quickly called for not much more and the two were headed to a one card runout with Houser at risk.

Nolan Houser: A8762
Adam Hendrix: AK876
