Sternheimer Gets Paid by Merron, Has Eye on Fantasy

Level 21 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Big O

Philip Sternheimer and Kyle Merron both put in around 50,000 heading to the river on a board of 39AK3. Sternheimer then assembled a tower of yellow 1,000 chips and pushed it in the middle, a bet of 60,000.

Merron tanked for about a minute before he called. Sternheimer turned over KJ432 for a full house and Merron mucked the big pot.

After the hand, Sternheimer checked to see who was left in the field. "We all pick players at the end of Day 1," ticking off the names on his fantasy team.

"Who picked me," tablemate Yuval Bronshtein asked.

Yanovski Has a Final Table Stack

Level 21 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Leonid Yanovski got involved in a pot just as the tournament clock reached dinner break. "I'll come back with my stack at the final table," Yanovski said, sitting behind the massive towers he has assembled.

Yanovski and Heiko Hinkelmann went to the river on a board of 59223 when Hinkelmann bet, Yanovski raised on the button, and Hinkelmann reraised.

Yanovski then raised enough to put Hinkelmann all in, and Hinkelmann committed his last chips. Yanovski turned over AK64 for a straight and a low, while Hinkelmann had AKQ4 for the same low as Yanovski took three-quarters.
