Morstoel Scoops

Level 20

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

The small blind raised preflop, and Thor William Morstoel defended the big blind.

The flop came 462. The small blind checked before calling a raise from Morstoel.

The turn brought the 2, and the small blind check-called Morstoel's bet.

Both players checked the A river. The small blind turned over A947 for aces and fours with a seven-six. Morstoel showed A643 for aces and sixes with a six-four to take the entire pot.

Phil Ivey could make history Thursday at the $50,000 Poker Players Championship if he were to take down the bracelet, which would be his first title at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) since 2014.

The widely accepted poker G.O.A.T. is one of three players — Johnny Chan and Doyle Brunson are the others — tied for second all-time with 10 WSOP bracelets. Phil Hellmuth, with 16 titles, is the record holder. But there could be just one player sitting in second place within the next 24 hours.

Stud Eight or Better

Lorri Broda: XxXx/27XxXx/Xx
Yueqi Zhu: XxXx/8QXxXx/Xx - folded on fourth street

Zhu called after Broda completed, but folded to her bet on fourth street.

Broda spoke to PokerNews about her wild ride in this event, which was corroborated by another player. During level nine, Broda was down to a single 100-denomination chip. "Then I got mad," she joked. Broda was able to survive multiple all ins in a row, and now sits with nearly half a million in chips.
