Cowen Gets Value with Bottom Straight

Level 2 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a completed board of 6QJK8 with three players still involved, Robert Cowen led out for 17,000 into the pot of 21,600.

He received a fold from the first player but then the action was on Greg Levine who thought about it for a few seconds before he tossed in some chips to make the call.

"Straight," Cowen announced as he tabled 10972 for the bottom end of the straight, which proved to be good as Levine quickly tossed in his hand.

Amot Wins Small Pot Off Khan

With 4,900 in the middle to the J76 flop, Mads Amot bet 3,000 and Michael Khan called. The 8 turn was checked and Amot then bet the 5 river for 3,500. Khan folded and the pot was awarded to the Norwegian.

Yankov Chips Up Early On

On the tail end of a 82279 board, Krasimir Yankov bet the pot for 34,500 after using one time bank extension. That sent Alex Foxen into the tank and he eventually folded. The table also features another PLO specialist in Tomas Ribeiro, who has a bracelet in the four card variant.

Jaros Battles with Myrmo

Level 2 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

On a flop of 479, Patrik Jaros led out for 10,000 and was called by Espen Myrmo to his left and the two went to the turn J.

Jaros continued for another 11,000 and Myrmo made the call once more.

On the river 5, Jaros announced pot for a bet of 65,000, which covered Myrmo, who then went into the tank.

After a few seconds, he gathered up his chips and set them in the middle to put himself at risk. He was then shown A10J8 for the nut flush by Jaros and Myrmo headed to the exit.

With 10,000 each invested on the 965 flop, the 9 followed on the turn. Vidur Sethi bet 10,000 out of the small blind. Dylan Weisman then raised it up to 50,000 and Bradley Anderson moved all-in for 80,000. Sethi folded and Weisman called.

The Q river was a blank and Anderson doubled up with nines-full.

"Action table ... I would have flopped a straight also," Jonas Kronwitter said.

Benjamin Juhasz was eliminated in a three-way all-in while Eric Kurtzman departed from one table over, his chips being shipped over to Maksim Reshetov. Several other notables jumped into the field which now boasts up to 90 entries.

Shuda Fades the Hearts

Level 1 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

On a three-way flop of 49A, Gregory Shuda, in the big blind, bet 20,000 into the pot of 30,800 and was called by Aaron Mermelstein from under the gun. Gergo Nagy, in early position, thought about it briefly but decided to let it go and the two players went heads-up to the turn 7.

Shuda then bet the pot for 70,800 and Mermelstein decided to make the call and the duo saw the 6 fall on the river.

Shuda checked over to Mermelstein, who quickly checked back and Shuda tabled AA105 for top set and his opponent quickly mucked to award him the pot.

"You had hearts?" Shuda asked him, relieved to come out a winner.

"Yes," Mermelsetin replied as he shook his head.

Hendrix Chips Up Without Showdown

Adam Hendrix bet the A54 flop for 1,500 and Mark Berente check-called. The 6 turn was checked and Berente bet the 6 river for 5,500 into 7,400.
