Koppel Approaching Two Million With Elimination of Oliphant

Level 20 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Following a raise to 40,000 by Ryan Bambrick in middle position, Phillip Oliphant called in the hijack, as did Jared Koppel in the big blind.

The flop came 10K7 and after a pair of checks, Oliphant bet 150,000. Koppel then potted it to 600,000, which got a fold, but Oliphant called off his roughly 250,000 chip stack.

Phillip Oliphant: A843
Jared Koppel: K10108

Koppel's set of tens was ahead of Oliphant's flush draw and backdoor low draw, and after the Q turn and 8 river, Koppel made Oliphant the latest in a steady flow of eliminations throughout the day with dinner coming up shortly.

With approximately 500,000 in the pot by the river with a completed board of 102J36, Mike Linster was in the cutoff facing a river bet of 250,000 from William Kopp in early position.

"Do you have any idea how lucky you got on the river," said Linster as he contemplated his decision.

After about a minute of thought, he folded his hand saying that any card but a six and he gets that pot.

Regardless, Linster still has easily the largest stack remaining in the field.

Linster bet pot on the 6 turn, which was enough to put Brousseau all in for his last 600,000. Brousseau called and hands were tabled.

Jeremy Brousseau: QJ32
Mike Linster: AJ1010

The 3 completed the board, leaving Brousseau without a low against Linster's straight and eliminating him from the tournament.
