Tice Takes Another From Chidwick

Level 17 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante

Landon Tice bet 18,000 on a flop of 10A3 and Stephen Chidwick called. Both players checked the 2 turn.

The river came the 4 and Tice led out for 25,000. Chidwick tossed in a green chip to call, then mucked when Tice turned over A9.

A few hands earlier, Tice had shoved the river for 177,000 on a board of JKQ26 and Chidwick gave up his hand.

Perez Raises, Negreanu Folds

Level 17 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante

Roberto Perez opened to 6,000 on the button and Daniel Negreanu made it 21,000 in the big blind. Perez called and the dealer fanned the flop of 972.

Negreanu led out with a bet of 21,000 and Perez announced a raise to 58,000. Negreanu instantly mucked his cards and Perez took a two-to-one chip lead in the match.

Nearby, Julien Martini called off the last of his 38,000 chips on the river but it was Joshua Heinzl who turned over the best hand in order to advance to Round 3.

Henri Puustinen

Landon Tice bet 35,000 on a board of 394Q and Stephen Chidwick called in the big blind.

The river came the 6 and Chidwick checked once more. Tice now checked behind and took down the pot with 93 for two pair.

At the same time on another table, Reiji Kono was knocking out Henri Puustinen when he made two pair with Q4 on a board of Q105A4.

Kono, who is being followed by a contingent of Japanese media who are filming his every move, stopped to take a picture of the board before racking up his chips for the next round.

Richardson Gets Paid by Porter

Level 16 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

A completed board of 76572 was spread across the felt with around 60,000 chips already in the middle. The action was on Daemon Richardson on the button who slid out a bet of 40,000.

Andrew Porter fanned out his time bank chips but opted not to use one as he flicked in a call before the time expired. Richardson turned over A7 for trip sevens and Porter sent his cards to the muck.

Frank Brannan
Frank Brannan

Frank Brannan bet 40,000 on a board of 983102 before Isaac Kempton moved all in.

"You got it," Brannan asked before calling for his last 100,000 and showing Q6 for the flush.

Kempton did, indeed, have it as he turned over K3 for a higher flush to win the pot and move on to the next round.

Smith Takes Down the Pot with King High

Level 16 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

John Smith raised the button to 4,000 and Chris Brewer in the big blind called. When the flop came the 764 Brewer checked allowing Smith to take a stab for 6,000. Brewer, undeterred, called the bet.

For the remainder of the hand, both players checked to a showdown when the board came the A on the turn and the 6 on the river. Smith was the first to reveal his handing showing K2. Brewer mucked as king-high was enough to win this hand.
