In a pot of over 10,000 on a flop of 9♦8♠7♣, Brian Rast checked from under the gun to a player in middle position who bet out 6,000, which Rast called.
The turn came the A♣ and Rast checked again. The middle position player bet 13,000 and Rast came along to the 9♠ river. Rast quickly checked a third time and his opponent checked back.
"I win," said Rast as he rolled over A♦9♣ for a rivered full house. His opponent mucked and the pot was shipped to the Poker Hall of Famer.
On a heads-up flop of 8♠10♠7♣, the early position player moved all in for 35,000 and Ivan Ermin made the call to put him at risk.
Opponent: Q♠9♣
Ivan Ermin: 7♦7♠
Ermin was currently ahead with his set of sevens, but it was still a sweat as his opponent had an open-ended straight draw. Luckily for him, the board ran out A♦9♠ and he held to scoop the pot and eliminated his adversary as he was out of add-on chips.
In the penultimate show of the summer, Chad & Jesse welcome two guests to the show starting with Josh Arieh, who has won two bracelets this summer and was nominated for the Poker Hall of Fame. Arieh talked about the WSOP back in the late 1990s, his career resurgence, Poker Stake, and shares a fun story involving Ted Forrest and the late Layne Flack.
The other guest is 2004 WSOP Main Event runner-up David Williams, who was fresh off winning a Flip & Go. He talks about his history in that event, how his WSOP gold bracelet and diamond toothpick were stolen in a home robbery, and why he wouldn’t do Master Chef again.
Chad and Jesse then do a new "Calling the Clock" segment in which they offer quick two-minute dialogues for topics on “The Board.”
A player in early position opened for 4,500 and it folded to Brian Rast on the button who moved all in for 66,000. Phil Ivey called for his last 14,400 from under the gun and the rest of the table got out of the way.
Phil Ivey: 10♥8♥
Brian Rast: 10♦9♦
Ivey was out-kicked by the ten-nine for Rast, and when the board ran out Q♦9♣6♣10♠K♥, it was the two pair for Rast that scored the pot to send Ivey to the exit after firing both add ons.
After an initial raise from Chris Brewer, the cutoff player shoved for 23,700 and Justin Bonomo made the call while the other players folded.
Cutoff: A♠K♥
Justin Bonomo: A♦J♦
The board ran out 8♣9♥Q♦8♦10♠ to give Bonomo a straight on the river and he calmy collected the pot while his opponent exited the tournament area, out of add-ons as well as reentries.
With 5,500 in the pot on a flop showing 10♥10♦9♠ a player under the gun led out for 1,500 and Nobuaki Sasaki folded next to act. Peter Jetten made the call in middle position and both the cutoff and Nacho Barbero on the button let it go.
The J♣ hit the turn and both players checked their options to the K♦ river, where again play went check-check. The under-the-gun player rolled over 10♠8♠ for flopped trips, but was no good against the Q♦J♠ straight for Jetten who scored the pot.
