Shoesmith's Top Pair is Good

Level 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 1,100 and Linn Shoesmith called in the hijack before Jason Koon came along in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of K42 and Koon checked to the preflop raiser who continued for 1,000. Shoesmith made the call and Koon check-raised to 3,400. Only Shoesmith called.

The J fell on the turn and Koon checked it over to Shoesmith as he bet 2,600. Koon called.

The 6 river was checked by both players and Koon said, "I think you win," as he tabled AJ. Shoesmith showed K9 for top pair and dragged the pot.

Mills would make the call and check the 9 river, after which her opponent bet out 11,000.

After some moments of deliberation, Mills would make the fold face-up, showing K8.

"I thought I flush over flushed you," commented Mills' opponent, who didn't reveal his hole cards.

The river was the 10 and Vaters checked for the third time. DiMartino thought for a moment and then checked it back. Vaters turned over 76 for a full house and DiMartino mucked her cards.
