Newey Out, Counterfeited by Quads

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action was picked up with two players already all in preflop. Paul Newey's shorter stack was at risk against William Benson.

Paul Newey: K6
William Benson: A10

Newey pulled ahead on the KJJ flop and remained so on the J turn. The river came the J, however, giving both players quads, and counterfeiting Newey's turned full house. Benson's ace-kicker was good for the winner, and Newey was sent to the rail while Benson collected the pot.

Emperador Finds Kings In The Big Blind

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

In middle position, Christopher Mazzawi decided to go all in with 233,000 chips, which is almost 30 big blinds.

Although the amount is quite significant, the small blind seemed interested. But he eventually folded. However, in the big blind, Diego Emperador looked at his cards and had no other option but to say "call."

Christopher Mazzawi: 77
Diego Emperador: KK

Mazzawi couldn't find a card to help him on A5J8Q, so he has been eliminated. Emperador took the pot, bringing his stack across the one-million chip mark.

Lin Smashes the Flop to Send Jun to Payouts

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jia Jun raised in the cutoff before Timothy Lin three-bet jammed in the big blind. Jun snap-called his remaining stack of about 140,000 and both hands were tabled.

Jia Jun: AK
Timothy Lin: J10

The dealer spread a flop of A43, giving Lin a flush on the flop. Jun wasn't drawing dead though as he still had the nut flush draw, but the 8 turn and 10 river were no help before he went to collect his minimum payout.

Shen Busts Suttles in Five-Way Pot

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The hijack raised to 16,000, Matthew Suttles called in the cutoff, the button three-bet to 55,000, the small blind cold-called and Roland Shen in the big blind moved all in for his last 56,000.

The hijack folded, Shen called the extra 40,000 and both the button and small blind put in 1,000 more to call.

With action on the side, it was four ways to the flop as it came J64. The small blind checked and Shen bet out for 120,000. All remaining players folded and the hand went to a showdown with Suttles at risk.

Matthew Suttles: 62
Roland Shen: 44

The turn and river came the 5 and K respectively. Shen's set of fours held and Suttles was sent to the rail.

Fineis Sends Greenstein Packing

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Rhian Fineis opened to 30,000 from late position before Barry Greenstein moved all in for a little over 100,000 on the button. The blinds got out of the way to send the action back to Fineis who quickly called to put Greenstein at risk.

Barry Greenstein: 88
Rhian Fineis: JJ

Fineis had Greenstein crushed although the 10JQ flop did give the at-risk player a gutshot. It did not come in, however, on either the 4 turn or 5 river to bring Greenstein's Main Event run to an end.
