Motoki Busts in Massive Cooler

Rodrigo Motoki began the day with nearly 4,000,000 but had a short stint at the table after running into the ultimate cooler against Daniel Scroggins.

Scroggins three-bet to 600,000 from the small blind and Motoki called in early position. The flop came A♣Q♣J♠ and Scroggins continued for 400,000.

Motoki called to the 5♠ turn, where Scroggins then bet 2,000,000. Motoki responded by moving all in for around 2,500,000 and Scroggins snap-called.

Motoki showed J♦J♥ for a flopped set, but Scroggins turned over Q♦Q♠ for a higher set. The river came the 10♦ and Scroggins scooped the massive pot to send a shell-shocked Motoki to the rail early on Day 6.

Lapido Wins 100 Big Blind Flip

A huge pile of chips were spotted being passed to Juan Maceiras Lapido at the expense of Aaron Speer.

Ludovic Geilich recapped the 10,000,000 chip pot to PokerNews.

Speer opened to 180,000 before Lapido made it 600,000 from the blinds. Speer four-bet to 1,500,000 and called off his 5,000,000 stack when Lapido moved all in as the slightly bigger stack.

The 9♣8♥6♥ flop kept the queens ahead, while the 9♥ turn gave Speer a flush draw to go along with his overcards. The 7♠ river was a brick and Lapido collected the pot after it was confirmed he covered Speer.

Robert Coakley got it in preflop with the A♣7♣ and Liu looked him up with the 9♥9♣.

The board ran out 10♦6♦5♦Q♣K♣ and that spelled the end for Coakley.

Paytas Scores Double Up; Akanuma Hits The Rail

The action was picked up when all the chips were in the middle preflop between Yuichi Akanuma and Nathan Paytas, who was the player at risk for his last 1,380,000.

It was a coin-flip preflop, but when then board ran out Q♠J♣3♣2♣7♠, it was the eights that held up for Paytas to score the double up and leave Akanuma short.

On the next hand, Akanuma shoved for 705,000 in early position and it folded to Logan Hoover on the button who made it 1,600,000 to go. The blinds got out of the way and the cards were shown.

Akanuma was in rough shape and in need of some help to stay alive. The board ran out K♣J♥10♠6♥3♥, and the ace-king for Hoover held up to send Akanuma to the exit.

Kiefer Is Out

Poker content creator Matt Kiefer had a fantastic run that saw him making Day 5 to lock up his biggest-ever career cash.

Unfortunately, Kiefer's run has reached an end as he was seen getting up from the table in his green Seattle SuperSonics jersey.

Kiefer will need to schedule another flight as his original flight out of Las Vegas left yesterday.

Tosoc Busts Westmorland in Big Pot

The action started with a raise to 175,000 by Ryan Tosoc and Viliyan Petleshkov made it 525,000 to go from two seats over. Jordan Westmorland then four-bet to 1,150,000 with around twice as much behind.

Tosoc pushed all-in to force out Petleshkov while Westmorland reluctantly called.

Rigby Falls to a Brutal River

Nicholas Rigby has been an unmissable presence at this Main Event, but his run just came to a sudden hand on a brutal river suckout by Diego Daquilio.

Rigby shoved all in for 1,540,000 from early position and Daquilio reshoved in middle position to force the rest of the table out of the pot.

Rigby was racing for his tournament life and took a big lead on the 10♥J♣2♠ flop with top set. The 6♠ turn was safe for Rigby, but Daquilio spiked the Q♠ on the river to make a Broadway straight.

Rigby sat stunned in his seat for a few moments before getting up to shake Daquilio's hand on his way to the payout desk.
