"That Was A Sad Outcome"

Level 8 : Limits 800/1,600, 0 ante

Mike "Crazy Mike" Thorpe raised on the button and in the big blind Allen Kessler called.

"I am pat," declared Thorpe as Kessler drew one. Kessler checked while Thorpe bet and Kessler called.

The same action repeated on the second draw with Kessler checking again.

"No, no, no, Allen, no checking," Thorpe said, bet in hand. He placed out the bet and Kessler called.

Kessler checked dark and Thorpe checked behind. Thorpe turned over K972 for a king-nine.

"No good," replied Kessler as he showed 8643 for an eight-six.

"That was a very sad outcome," Thorpe lamented after the hand.

"For me yeah," Kessler replied "I should have got more money."

Ruben "Steaming Off"

Level 8 : Limits 800/1,600, 0 ante

Brad Ruben declared that he was steaming off from the Omaha 8 or Better tournament earlier that day, prior to the start of the hand.

A player in early position called and in the cutoff, Brad Ruben raised which saw the small blind call and the early position player call.

The small blind drew one, the early position player drew two, and Ruben drew one while action checked around.

On the second draw, the small blind stood pat and both the early position player and Ruben drew one. The small blind bet and both players called.

Repeating action took place on the final draw with the small blind betting once more. The early position player mucked his hand and Ruben responded by raising, getting a quick call. Ruben turned over 765A for a seven-six and it was good for the multi-time bracelet winner to take down the pot.
