Juanda Slowly Building Momentum

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Poker Hall of Famer John Juanda’s day has been a roller coaster, but he’s been on a steady climb after a slow start.

Action picked up on the flop in a battle of the blinds between Daniyal Gheba, who was in the small blind, and Juanda, who was in the big blind.

The board showed 210Q, which resulted in Gheba betting 15,000. Juanda quickly called.

The dealer placed Q on the turn, and Gheba checked. Juanda responded by betting 30,000, which forced Gheba to fold.

Cierco Picks Off Big River Bluff

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action folded all the way to Anthony Cierco in the small blind who just called. Moshe Refaelowitz in the big blind checked his option.

The flop fell 795 and Cierco check-called a bet of 20,000 from Refaelowitz.

The turn J saw Cierco check-call another bet from Refaelowitz for 65,000.

The river came 2 and Cierco checked for a third time. Refaelowitz bet a large 185,000 wager and Cierco went deep into the tank before calling.

Refaelowitz revealed K8 for just king-high before Cierco showed 94 for second pair and scooped a big pot.

Rast Tanks for Four Minutes

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Brian Rast had bet 80,000 on the turn with the board reading J65A into Alexandre Reard. After a short time, Reard shoved all in for 310,000, and Rast had a lot of thinking to do.

After four minutes of thinking, Rast still hadn't made a decision and told his tablemates they could call the clock if they wanted. One of them immediately called for it and Rast was given a 30-second countdown, which saw him fold with just five seconds to go.
