Today sees the start of Event #21: $25,000 High Roller Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em here at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. This event is scheduled to run for three days, with Day 1 shuffling up and dealing at 12 p.m. on June 6, with eight 60-minute levels planned. The 30-second shot clock will be in play from the start of this event.
Players begin with 150,000 chips and Level 1 blinds are 500/1,000 with 1,000 big blind ante. Late registration remains open until the end of the first level on Day 2 (about 2 p.m.).
This is only the second running of this event, as it was a new addition to the 2023 WSOP. Last year's event attracted 207 entrants, who created a $4,864,500 prize pool. Swiss star Alexandre Vuilleumier came out on top, defeating Chance Kornuth heads up to capture his first WSOP bracelet and a huge $1,215,864 top prize.

In one of the first hands of the day, Chris Brewer and Orpen Kisacikoglu were involved in a pot with the board showing Q♥10♠6♦4♠K♠. Brewer had bet 8,000 from under the gun and Kisacikoglu called. Brewer flipped over K♣Q♠ for two pair to take down the pot.

The button opened to 2,500 and Chance Kornuth defended from the big blind.
Kornuth checked the K♠Q♥9♠ flop to which the button put out a continuation-bet of 3,000. Kornuth called and they headed to the turn.
The K♥ turn got checked through for the 9♣ to come on the river. This time Kornuth took the betting lead and fired out 3,000. This prompted a quick fold from his opponent

Orpen Kisacikoglu opened to 2,500 from under the gun, and called when Joao Vieira made it 9,000 from the cutoff.
Kisacikoglu check-called for 7,000 on the Q♣9♠5♣ flop before the 7♣ turn checked through to the 4♥ river. Kisacikoglu then check-folded to a bet of 21,000.
