Toby Lewis raised to 5,000 from the hijack and was three-bet by the player in the cutoff to 15,500. Lewis put in the call and the players saw a flop of 529.

Lewis then check-called a bet of 12,500 before checking on the K turn as well.

The big blind fired a bet of 32,000, after which Lewis shoved all in, covering the cutoff's stack of 60,500. The player in the cutoff, quickly released his cards, however, and the pot was shipped to Lewis.

Darius Samual
Darius Samual

Here's a name you'd better start learning the rest of the summer — Darius Samual. That isn't a household name in poker yet, but it will be soon.

The poker player from England entered the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) with less than $100,000 in live tournament cashes, according to The Hendon Mob. Twelve days into the series, there's an argument to be made that he's one of a few "players to beat" regarding WSOP Player of the Year.

And, here's what's really crazy — Samual gambled half his poker bankroll in one event just to get to this point.

Linde Puts Koon to the Test

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action on the river, Dylan Linde in early position was involved in a hand with Jason Koon on the button.

With the board reading AQ2810 and around 30,000 in the middle, Linde bet out 40,000. That sent Koon deep into the tank with his posture indicating the decision was between a call and a fold. Eventually, and after burning a time extension, he laid down his hand to take a hit to his still above average stack while sending a healthy pot over towards Linde.

Farrell Chipping Back Up

Level 3 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Niall Farrell raised to 5,000 from the cutoff and was called by the button and Ariel Mantel in the big blind. The flop fell 6107 and was checked to the button.

He fired a bet of 6,000 and was called by both Mantel and Farrell. Mantel checked again on the 9 turn, but Farrell decided to lead out for 8,000. The button raised to 22,000 and Farell called after Mantel had folded.

The A river was then checked down, after which Farrell tabled 88 for a straight. It was the winning hand, as the button mucked his cards. As a result, Farrell raked in the pot and was back to a six-figure stack.
