This four-day event gets underway at 12 p.m. local time, with late registration open for 11 levels. There will be 15-minute breaks every two levels of play, and a one-hour dinner break is scheduled after Level 6 (at approximately 6:30 p.m.). Only one reentry is permitted in this event.
The starting stack is 50,000 chips, with the plan for Day 1 to play ten 60-minute levels. For the surviving players, Day 2 resumes at 12 p.m. Friday and ends after another ten levels of play.
Last year’s event saw a field of 1,015 entries, generating a prize pool of $426,300. The winner was Weiran Pu, who defeated Norbert Szecsi heads-up to win $938,244 and his first WSOP bracelet.
"I'm so thankful. I didn't start travelling to play poker until this year. I went to the PCA and other events like EPT's and the results were not what I expected." Wu told PokerNews. "This is a big moment. It's a big surprise because the first half of this year wasn't so smooth. Right now I'm a social media influencer for poker in China. I've made hundreds of vlogs, but this one may be my biggest."
