McEwan Saved by the River

Matthew McEwan opened to 240,000 on the button, before being three bet Yan Zhang three-bet to 780,000. When action folded back to McEwan, he elected to four-bet him all in for 3,040,000. Zhang heisted for a second, before putting in his chips to call.

McEwan had the under pair and would need to improve to stay in the tournament. The flop came A♣3♠2♠ to give McEwan a wheel draw to go with his set outs. The turn K♣ was no help, but the 5♥ gave McEwan a wheel, and the double up.

There are currently 30 minutes remaining in Level 28, with two more 60-minute levels to play before the survivors bag up for the night.

Max Kruse raised to 240,000 from under the gun and Pedro Madeira three-bet to 525,000 on the button. Once the blinds folded, Kruse made the call.

Both players checked it down on the J♥8♠Q♣Q♦J♦ board.

"You win, I'm playing the board," remarked Kruse.

Madeira then tabled A♥10♦ for ace-high which was good for the pot.

The turn was the 3♠. Yankov fired 450,000 and McEwan called again.

The river came the J♠. Yankov took some time before leading out for 650,000. McEwan folded this time as his stack shrunk back down after the recent double.

Matthew McEwan raised to 240,000 from the cutoff and Yang Zhang three bet to 680,000 from the button. McEwan put in the call the the flop.

The flop came 4♦2♣J♠ and McEwan was quick to check. Zhang continued for 500,000 and was called by McEwan.

While the turn peeled the 8♣, both players were quick to check.

The river came the J♥ and McEwan checked to Zhang. He fired for 1,500,000 to put McEwan into the tank. Eventually, he made the fold for Zhang to take the pot.

Both players checked after the J♦6♠10♥ flop.

The turn was the 10♦ and Gleissner bet 200,000 before being raised by McEwan to 650,000. Gleissner wasted little time to three-bet McEwan all in for 2,015,000, McEwan made the call, and put his tournament life on the line. n

McEwan check called a bet of 130,000 after the A♣3♠8♣ flop, and 450,000 on the 10♦ turn.

After the 7♦ on the river, both players checked. McEwan showed A♥4♥ for a top pair, but Zhang tabled A♦J♦ for a pair of aces, but with a better kicker, giving him the pot.
