Pisarenko Takes from Thung

Level 13

2-7 Triple Draw

Roy Thung limped from under the gun and, after confirming his opponent had just called, Maksim Pisarenko checked his option in the big blind.

Pisarenko took two to Thung's one on the first draw, then checked. Thung bet before calling a check-raise by Pisarenko.

Both players drew one on the second draw. Pisarenko bet out and Thung called.

The final draw saw Pisarenko stand pat. He then checked to Thung, who had opted to draw one more card. Thung held his cards aloft, studying them intently but ultimately thought better of taking a stab at the pot, instead checking with a sense of resignation. Pisarenko turned over 9x7x5x4x2x to win the pot.

Daniel Negreanu

2-7 Triple Draw

Action folded to Maxx Coleman who raised in the small blind, and Daniel Negreanu called in the big blind.

Coleman drew one and Negreanu two. Coleman then bet and Negreanu called.

Coleman took one again, while Negreanu took two as Coleman bet. Negreanu called and drew one, while Coleman stood pat and bet.

"I didn't see any sevens, so I'm going to play cautiously and just call," Negreanu said. Coleman showed 8-7, but Negreanu had 8x6x4x3x2x to win the pot.

"I thought about raising but I had three eights and no sevens. So what am I raising for? Just to be reraised and run into a seven?" Negreanu said after the hand.

Thung Dealt an Eight-Seven

Level 13

No-Limit 2-7 Single Draw

Maksim Pisarenko opened to 27,000 from middle position before Roy Thung three-bet to 75,000 in the cutoff. Bryce Yockey put in a cold four-bet to 200,000 on the button, forcing a quick fold from Pisarenko. Thung flatted to send action heads-up to the draw with a large pot already in the middle.

Neither player chose to take a card after which they both checked to showdown. Thung flipped over 8x7x5x3x2x and Yockey mucked. As he was raking in the chips, Thung apologized to Yockey, who responded that he was only sorry he had not chosen to break his hand.

Rogers Cannot Make the Fold

Level 13

Limit Hold'em

Jared Blezick opened from middle position and then called after John David Rogers three-bet out of the small blind.

Rogers continued on the 10JK flop, receiving a call from Bleznick.

The A turn put a four liner on the board but that did not appear to concern Rogers too much as he fired off another bet. Bleznick responded with a raise, which Rogers called.

Rogers slowed down after the 2 river completed the board, checking to Bleznick, who tossed out a bet. Now Rogers did seem to be in an uncomfortable position. After some consideration, however, he did commit calling chips only to muck once Bleznick tabled Q9 to take a decently large hit to his stack early on Day 3.
