2024 World Series of Poker
After a preflop betting fiasco, Cassiano Lima got it all in against three other players.
Player 1: A♥Q♣
Cassiano Lima: A♠A♦
Player 2: 8♠8♦
Player 3: J♦J♠
The runout of 6♠Q♠5♦3♠A♣ only improved Lima to top set to win the main pot while player 3 took the side with his jacks and Player 1 was sent to the rail.
Mounjed Masri had raised from an early position when the button moved all in for around 22,500. Masri made the call and wished his opponent "good luck" before flipping their hands.
Button: 5♠5♣
Mounjed Masri: 6♥6♠
Masri was just ahead and things stayed that way on the K♠3♦K♣ flop. The 10♦ turn and 9♥ river sealed the pot for Masri and the button was knocked out of the tournament.
Level: 12
Blinds: 1,000/2,500
Ante: 2,500
Matthew Bode called a three-bet all in from the button for 25,000 with two players left to act behind him. The player on his left went all in for well over 100,000. Brett Pimental cold-called for much less and Bode called as well.
Button: 9♣9♠
Brett Pimental: 2♣2♠
Matthew Bode: A♦K♠
Big Stack: Q♦Q♣
Pimental improved right away when the board came 8♣5♣2♥, giving him a set before the turn bricked the 10♦. Bode was drawing dead to the main pot but seized a massive side pot when the A♠ fell on the river, thwarting the queens of the other big stack and leaving him short.
Bruce Farley moved all in from early position for 11,600, putting himself at risk, and was called by the player in the cutoff.
Bruce Farley: K♠K♦
Cutoff: 9♣9♠
The board ran out 4♣J♠A♣A♥Q♠, and Farley's pair of kings held to secure him the much needed double up.
The player in the cutoff raised to 6,000 and the player in the small blind flatted. Jessica Vierling then moved all in from the big blind for about 38,000.
Both players folded, and the pot was pushed Vierling's way.
The cutoff and the big blind were all in pre-flop heads up and the cutoff had the big blind's 26,000 stack covered.
Big Blind:A♣5♣
Cutoff:8♥8♠
The flop came 2♦K♣4♠ with some straight and backdoor flush draw outs for the big blind.
The 7♥ turn didn't change anything but the 3♥ river brought in the straight in for the big blind, and the double.
In the next hand, the blind blind, now in the small blind, found himself all in again against Vasil Veselinov from an early position.
Small Blind: A♣K♠
Vasil Veselinov: A♥A♠
The small blind flopped a straight with the Q♦10♦J♦, and was looking good for another double up.
The dealer turned a Q♣, pairing the board, giving Veselinov some chances for a scoop.
The river came the Q♠, giving Veselinov the boat to win the pot and the small blind's hopes came to an end.
Action picked up on the turn in a hand between Kimberly Duffner, who was under the gun and the player in late position.
With about 10,000 in the pot and the board reading 5♠Q♣5♣, Duffner led out with a bet of 5,000 and late position called.
On the 5♦ turn, Duffner bet 7,000 and late position moved all in, putting Duffner at risk, who had 17,000 behind. Duffner quickly made the call.
Kimberly Duffner: A♣A♦
Late position: A♠Q♦
The river landed the 7♠, awarding Duffner the pot, and the double up.
