Ferreira Halts Jang's Comeback

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Hyunsick Jang went for a ride on the ole poker rollercoaster.

Jang first moved all in for 335,000 from middle position, with action folding to Jeffrey Yanchek in the big blind. Yankchek called off his stack of 275,000 and the cards went on their backs.

Jang had 77 and was flipping against AK. The J84KK runout gave Yanchek trips for the double up.

A few hands later, Jang put in his last 60,000 from under the gun. The table got out of the way before Rui Ferreira called from the big blind as the bigger stack.

Jang's Q5 bested Ferreira's 102 after the board ran out with the 97357.

On the next deal, Zhiyuan Xu opened to 50,000 from the button, with Ferreira calling from the small blind. Jang moved all in once again, looking to continue his spin up. Xu folded but Ferreira called to reclaim his recently lost chips.

Hyunsick Jang: A4All in
Rui Ferreira: 55

Ferreira's pocket pair remained best and Jang headed out of the tournament area following the Q26KJ.

Rough Times for Davenport; Shaw Takes the Lead

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Matthew Davenport
Matthew Davenport

A huge pot was brewing on Table 620 between Ivan Stankov and Matt Davenport.

There was around 1,600,000 in the pot on the K2689 board.

Stankov bet 725,000 from the cutoff, and Davenport called.

Stankov tabled 99 for a set of nines.

"Jesus f****** christ," said a frustrated Davenport as he left his seat. He took a few steps away from the table before returning, where he and Stankov continued to stare each other down. As he returned to his seat, Davenport tabled his no good AK.

The pot left Davenport with around 650,000, and his chips were soon in the middle. He was all in and at risk to compatriot Carl Shaw.

Davenport had KxQx and was up against 77. The board ran out with low cards for Shaw to down Davenport.

Soon after, Shaw banked another bust out, sending Christopher Staats to the rail for his chip stack to eclipse the 5,000,000 mark.
