No hyperbole, that's a genuine question. On Sunday, Scott Seiver won his third bracelet of the summer making him a lock to win the 2024 WSOP Player of the Year award. Or, so you'd think. But the latter part of that sentence couldn't be further from the truth.
Todd Brunson: J♣8♠/J♥7♥8♣6♣/9♥
Nikolay Fal: A♠6♠/7♠5♣J♦8♥/K♥
Adam Friedman: 3♠3♥/5♥4♠4♦J♠/6♦
Nikolay Fal bet on sixth street and got two instant calls from Adam Friedman and Todd Brunson.
On seventh, Fal bet again. Friedman raised. Brunson called swiftly. Fal would need to put in his remaining 3,000 to make the call as he agonized over it for a few moments before he called.
Friedman announced two pair, but it was beaten by Brunson's jacks up two pair for the high. And Fal stayed alive by taking the low.
Dario Sammartino: Q♠7♣/8♣9♠A♠10♥/6♥
Chad Eveslage: XxXx/5♥A♣2♣10♠
Action arrived on seventh street where Chad Eveslage bet but Dario Sammartino raised it up. Eveslage took several moments to think it over before calling.
Sammartino tabled the straight and Eveslage mucked instantly.
Nikolay Fal: XxXx/2♠2♣8♣Q♦/Xx
Jared Talarico: XxXx/2♥9♥A♠10♥/Xx
Adam Friedman: XxXx/9♦K♦Q♥Q♣/Xx
Three-handed on fourth street, Nikolay Fal bet before Adam Friedman raised. Jared Talarico called, Fal reraised all in, and both opponents called.
Talarico bet on fifth, Friedman raised, and Talarico called. Friedman bet again on sixth and Talarico called.
Talarico opened the betting on seventh and Friedman shook his head as he called. Talarico turned over K♥10♠4♥ for a flush, while Fal had A♦6♠5♠ for a low to chop the pot.
"King-four," Friedman said, continuing to mutter to himself well after the table had moved on to the next hand.
