Ormson Triples Up; Ding Takes Out Aldemir in a Cooler

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Koray Aldemir
Koray Aldemir

A player in the small blind was all in for around 200,000, Larry Ormson shoved in his last 250,000 in the big blind, and Laith Salem had both players covered and at risk in early position.

Small Blind: 1010 All in
Larry Ormson: AQ All in
Laith Salem: QQ

Salem quickly went from being ahead and poised for a double knockout to drawing dead once the flop came A9A, giving Ormson trips. The rest of the board ran out 83 and Ormson took the pot to virtually triple up and eliminate the small blind.

Earlier at this table, Biao Ding and Koray Aldemir tangled in a massive pot where Aldemir was all in for around 1,100,000 with two kings, but Ding woke up with two aces to bust the 2021 Main Event champion.

Montoya Gets a Good Sweat

Level 20 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Brandon Cantu raised to 40,000 in late position, the player on the button flatted, and Tyler Montoya three-bet shoved all in from the small blind for 405,000, putting himself at risk. Cantu got out of the way, and the button made the call.

Tyler Montoya: AK All in
Button: KQ

The flop came 892, with Montoya still in the lead. The J rolled off on the turn, giving the button additional outs with flush and straight possibilities. The river card was black, but it was the J, securing Montoya the double-up.

"It's always a sweat," said Montoya as the dealer counted the chips and pushed the pot his way.
