Foxen Gains Chips; Astedt Leads to Take Lead

Level 37 : Blinds 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Diogo Coelho raised to 2,000,000 in early position and Kristen Foxen called on the button. The flop fell 8106 and was checked by both. Coelho then bet 2,200,000 on the 8 turn and Foxen called.

The 5 river was knuckled down again, and Foxen's AQ was the better ace-high at showdown, winning from Coelho's A2.

The next hand, Joe Serock raised his button to 2,100,000 and Niklas Astedt defended his big blind. Astedt checked the 273 flop, after which Serock bet 1,400,000. Astedt called and the 6 turn rolled off.

Astedt decided to lead out for 3,500,000 and received an instant fold from Serock, resulting in Astedt taking over the tournament chip lead from his opponent.

Malo Latinois: AK

Angelov didn't have to sweat the flip for long as the flop landed 684 to give him a set. The 5 turn created chop possibilities, but instead the 6 river landed to give Angelov quads for an emphatic double.

Jordan Griff
Jordan Griff

Jordan Griff raised to 6,300,000 in early position with 2,000,000 behind in the first hand of the day. Jessie Bryant called from the next seat and everybody else folded.

On the A103 flop, the final chips went into the middle and Griff was in dire shape.

Jordan Griff: QQ All in
Jessie Bryant: 33

The 8 turn changed nothing but Griff spiked the miraculous Q on the river to survive in spectacular fashion as he walked around the table catching his breath before sitting back down to collect his double up.
