Dermendjian Hits Big Blind Special

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Victor Dermendjian was in the big blind and faced a raise from the small blind to 70,000. The flop was 225 and the small blind bet out 70,000 and Dermendjian made the call.

On the turn K the small blind checked and Dermendjian moved in enough chips to put the small blind all in about 500,000. The small blind took some time and made the call.

Small blind: KQ All in
Victor Dermendjian: 62

The small blind was drawing thin and the river J sealed the win for Dermendjian with his trips.

Gomes Eliminates a Very Unhappy Opponent

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

The button started the hand with a stack of around 420,000 and opened to 75,000. David Gomes was in the small blind and went all in for 450,000. The button started talking to himself through the decision and took a few moments before deciding to call.

Button: A9All in
David Gomes: QJ

The button jumped out of his seat, happy to see Gomes’s cards, saying he knew he was stealing.

However, the hand was not over. The flop came Q36 and Gomes pulled ahead.

The turn J gave Gomes two pair and had his opponent drawing dead. The river was the inconsequential Kx. The player was visibly upset and reiterated everyone at the table knew Gomes was stealing, added a few intense comments about him, mentioned something about a ‘stupid’ decision and had to be stopped from storming off the floor before getting his payout.

Ali on a Roll and Wins With Ace Ten Twice

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Faizan Ali got lucky with ace-ten twice in the two following hands:

Faizan Ali was on the button and faced a raise to 75,000 from an early position player. Ali three-bet all in for 525,000 and received the call.

Faizan Ali: A10 All in
Early position: AK

The board ran out with 1010589 and Ali's trip tens scored the win.

On the second hand a player in middle position raised to 75,000 and Ali made the call from the cutoff position. The flop arrived with A84 and the middle position bet 75,000 and Ali called.

Both players checked the turn 5.

On the river J the middle position player bet 30,000 and Ali made the call. The middle position turned over J10 for a pair of jacks and Ali turned over....yes you guessed it A10 for the pair of aces and the win.

Larson On the Right Side of a Cooler

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

According to the players, Joseph Larson opened the action preflop and his opponent in the big blind defended.

The flop was 10QJ. Big blind checked and Larson continued for 40,000, which the big blind raised to 140,000. Larson called.

The turn was the Q. The big blind went all in for around a million chips and Larson called.

Big blind: 98All in
Joseph Larson: 1010

The river was the 9. The player in the big blind had flopped a straight, but was drawing dead on the turn against Larson’s full house and his tournament was over, while Larson took the pot to almost double up and now has a nice stack of over 60 big blinds.

Kings Never Win

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

David Niedringhaus was on a short stack and moved all in from early position. Brandon Bloom was in the big blind and reraised all in. The rest of the table folded.

David Niedringhaus: A5All in
Brandon Bloom: KK

The Q4A flop flipped things around, leaving the favored kings way behind. The 8 turn and 5 river did not change anything and Niedringhaus doubled up.

The players commented that pocket kings have been the worst hand at the table, losing four times recently, and should at this point probably be folded preflop.
