Bryce Yockey Among Final Ten in $1,000 Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha

It will take an extra day at the 2024 World Series of Poker to decide a champion in Event #86: $1,000 Mystery Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha. The final ten contenders will return to the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas at 1 p.m. local time, where Sascha Wilhelm holds the chip lead after bagging more than 70 big blinds.

Right behind Wilhelm sits Bryce Yockey, who is eyeing another shot at a second WSOP bracelet of the series. The American pro secured his second career gold bracelet earlier this summer with a win in Event #8: $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (8-Handed). Yockey then made a deep run in Event #58: $50,000 Poker Players Championship (7-Handed), ultimately finishing in the runner-up position.

Yockey returns in second spot as the only other player with more than 30,000,000 chips, good for 68 big blinds. Adam Adams rounds out the top three on the leaderboard with just over 25,000,000 in his stack.

The event was scheduled to finish on Thursday, but the field of 4,280 entrants in this inaugural bracelet event proved too big. The total prize pool of $3,616,800 included several big mystery bounties, all of which were snapped up on Day 2. One last $5,000 bounty and nine bounties of $1,000 are all that remain for the final day.

Each of the remaining players have locked up $20,820, with sights set on the top prize of $282,290 and the WSOP bracelet. One other player in the field can add to his collection, as Robert Cowen has a chance at claiming his third bracelet. Cowen has some ground to make up, sitting with just six big blinds when play resumes. Only Juan Lapido has a shorter stack, with the field sitting one elimination away from the unofficial final table.

The final ten players will return to their seats at 1 p.m. local time, where action will resume on Level 35 with blinds of 250,000/500,000 and a 500,000 big blind ante. Play will continue with 40-minute levels, and players will get 15-minute breaks after every two hours of play.

Don't miss a moment of the action as the PokerNews live reporting team will be inside the ropes to reveal the next WSOP bracelet winner.

With the final table underway it was Daisuke Ogita who raised to 1,500,000 from early position. He was called by Sascha Wilhelm in the cutoff and Bryce Yockey on the button and the three saw a 3AK flop dealt.

Ogita checked and Wilhelm put in a bet of 1,800,000. This bet was called by both Yockey and Ogita. The turn was the 7.

It checked to Yockey who took over the betting initiative this time with a bet of 6,300,000 and the action was back on Ogita who announced "all in".

Wilhelm folded but Yockey seemed interested counting his stack multiple times before ultimately letting go of his hand and sending the pot to Ogita.

Juan Lapido

Bryce Yockey limped under the gun and it folded all the way to small blind Juan Lapido who also called. Big blind Sascha Wilhelm checked his option.

The flop fell 10K5 and they all checked to see the 2 on the turn. Lapido checked to Wilhelm who fired a bet of 1,000,000. Yockey called but Lapido made a pot-sized raise to 6,000,000. Wilhelm called but Yockey folded.

The river was the K and Lapido only had 2,825,000 behind but as soon as he moved chips forward towards the middle of the table Wilhelm's cards already touched the muck.

Small One For Wilhelm

Level 36 : Blinds 300,000/600,000, 600,000 ante

Hijack Sascha Wilhelm raised to 1,400,000 and was called by Bryce Yockey from the cutoff and big blind James Cavanaugh. The three saw the K810 flop and Cavanaugh checked to Wilhelm who bet 1,700,000.

This was enough to make both of his opponents fold and take down the pot.
