The pot stood at approximately 9,000 with two players looking at a flop of K85.

Mathew Boarreira, in the big blind, checked the action to Barry Greenstein, in the cutoff. Greenstein bet out 4,000 and Boarreira check-raised to 8,000. Greenstein called.

Plante Wins Hellmuth’s Bounty

Level 10 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

According to the players, the hand started with a limp by Santiago Plante from the middle position, which was followed by a call from Phil Hellmuth in the hijack. The button also called, as did the small blind. The big blind checked his option.

The flop came QJ5. The small blind checked and the big blind went all in for 7,500 chips. Plante then went over the top, all in for 24,000 chips, and Hellmuth called all in for 20,000 chips. The button and small blind folded.

Big blind: Q7All in
Phil Hellmuth: QJAll in
Santiago Plante: A4

Hellmuth had the best of it on the flop with top two pair; the short-stacked big blind was way behind and needed running sevens, while Plante was very live with the nut flush draw.

The turn 9 still looked like Hellmuth, but the 5 on the river brought in Plante’s flush. Hellmuth took the beat well, wished the table good luck and hit the rail.
