Christopher Roth raised to 130,000 on his button and Hokyiu Lee defended his big blind.
Lee check-called Roth's bet of 175,000 chips on the 3♦6♥7♦ flop before he checked again on the 3♥ turn.
After Roth had bet 400,000, Lee raised to 1,100,000. Roth then three-bet to 2,350,000, his entire stack. Lee asked for a count and mulled it over for a while.
"I have to think whether I'm drawing dead or not," he stated. Shortly after, he made the fold and forfeited the pot to Roth.
Welcome to the Poker Hall of Fame: Patrik Antonius.
With a distinguished career and over $23 million in career earnings, Antonius embodies everything that the Poker Hall of Fame stands for, having played high-stakes poker against some of the greatest players of his generation and gained the respect of both cash game and tournament players alike.
"In the modern era of poker, few have been as bold and fearless as Patrik Antonius," said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. "A force both online and live, we’re thrilled to see Patrik’s high-stakes career acknowledged by legends who have added the first international player to the Poker Hall of Fame in a number of years."
Antonius is the first European player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since the late David "Devilfish" Ulliott in 2017. He's also the first living European to be inducted since 2008 when holecard camera inventor Henry Orenstein was inducted.
According to the WSOP, Antonius edged “Miami” John Cernuto and Isai Scheinberg in the voting to secure his 2024 nomination.
Tolga Demirel raised to 150,000 on the button and Martin Zamani called in the big blind. The A♣Q♠3♣ flop saw Zamani check-call a bet of 280,000 before Demirel sized down to 175,000 on the A♥ turn.
Zamani check-called again but led out for 175,000 on the A♦ river. Demirel spent minutes in the tank until the clock was called on him. With less than five seconds left in his countdown, he made the call.
Zamani tabled K♣J♥J♦9♣ for aces full of jacks and won the pot when Demirel mucked his cards.
The action was picked up on the turn 2♠3♠5♥10♣ when Dylan Weisman and Hokyiu Lee got all of their chips into the middle, with Weisman at risk.
Dylan Weisman: Q♦10♥8♦3♦
Hokyiu Lee: A♣7♦5♠4♣
Lee was already well in the lead with his straight, but Weisman still had outs with his two pair. Unfortunately, the river was the 9♣ to send out Weisman in 11th place.
Pedro Velasco raised to 175,000 from the cutoff and in the big blind, Tolga Demirel called.
The flop rolled out 5♣6♥3♠ and Velasco moved all in for 300,000 which Demirel called.
Pedro Velasco: A♦A♣9♦5♥
Tolga Demirel: 9♣8♣7♥7♦
The board ran out 8♠J♠ and the nine-high straight came in on the turn for Demirel, which left Velasco drawing dead and he was eliminated from the tournament.
