Williams' Gamble Pays Off

Level 5 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante
David Williams
David Williams

Erick Lindgren's table again saw a huge multi-way pot, but this time four players committed their stacks preflop.

Martin McCloskey raised from early position and induced a ton of action as the cutoff called, as did David Williams. Erick Lindgren shoved for 5,200, which both McCloskey and the cutoff called. Williams shoved for over 30,000, then McCloskey and the cutoff both put their stacks into the middle.

Erick Lindgren: 85 All in
Cutoff: Q9 All in
David Williams: A5 All in
Martin McCloskey: AJ

McCloskey would eliminate three players if his ace-jack held up, but it was Williams who took the main pot as he paired his five on the K5726 runout, which eliminated the cutoff and Lindgren, and left McCloskey with a very small stack.
