Yockey Check-Calls Three Streets for His Tournament Life on the Bubble

Level 17 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Bryce Yockey
Bryce Yockey

A player in the cutoff opened to 16,000 and Bryce Yockey defended the big blind.

On the 54J flop, Yockey check-called a bet of 15,000.

An A fell on the turn and after the Yockey checked, the cutoff bet 44,000. Yockey called.

Yockey checked for a third time on the board-pairing A river, and the cutoff shoved. Yockey had 119,000 chips behind and made the call which put him at risk.

It was some time before the floor came over to allow the players to turn over their cards, but when they did, Yockey was the better off.

The cutoff showed Q4 for a pair of fours, but Yockey flipped 65 for a pair of fives and doubled up on the bubble.
