Greg Raymer opened to 12,500 from the button, leaving a single T-100 chip behind. Daniel Zack shoved from the big blind with a covering stack and Raymer called. Zack stood pat and Raymer drew one, showing that he discarded 10x
Greg Raymer: 7x6x5x2x
Daniel Zack: 10x9x7x4x2x
Raymer had broken a ten-seven leaving Zack ahead with a ten-nine. Raymer couldn't improve after picking up a Kx and was sent to the rail while Zack claimed the last of his chips.
Tal Avivi, who recounted the early action for this hand, opened from under the gun. Scott Seiver called from the cutoff and Leonardo Rizzo shoved, covering both players by a wide margin. Avivi called with his stack of roughly 20,000 and Seiver, who had started the hand with just over 40,000, also called and was at risk. Avivi stood pat while Seiver and Rizzo each took one.
Tal Avivi: Jx10x9x7x5x
Scott Seiver: 9x7x6x2x
Leonardo Rizzo: 7x5x4x3x
Seiver was drawing to a nine, but made a pair after catching 7x. Rizzo was drawing to a wheel but caught Kx. Avivi's pat jack-ten was still good at showdown and he tripled up, while Rizzo was good for the side pot with a king-low. Seiver was eliminated but immediately rebought and drew the same table.
Seiver shoved from under the gun for 25,000 the next hand and Chance Kornuth, seated directly to his left, called off with his stack of roughly 18,000. Seiver drew one while Kornuth stood pat.
Chance Kornuth: Jx7x6x4x3x
Scott Seiver: 10x5x4x3x
Chance Kornuth
Seiver was drawing to a ten-low but drew Kx. Kornuth's pat-jack was good at showdown and he doubled up while Seiver was left with just 7,000. One hand later, Seiver got his last chips in against Avivi, who drew one while Seiver drew two.
Scott Seiver: 7x6x2x
Tal Avivi: 9x7x6x2x
Avivi drew a queen while Seiver picked up 6x2x to make two pair, resulting in his second elimination over the span of three hands. Seiver rebought again, and although Kornuth was calling for him to get put on Table 292 for a third time, Seiver finally was moved to another table for his third bullet.
Anthony Zinno registered in the previous break and raised to 2,500 under the gun. Lawrence Brandt made the call in the small blind and drew one card, with Zinno standing pat after.
Zinno fired a bet of 4,000 after the draw, and Brandt check-folded his holding.
Patrick Moulder raised to 1,600 in middle position, and called when John Delong three-bet to 5,000 in the hijack.
Moulder drew two cards while Delong stood pat. Moulder then quickly check-folded to Delong's bet of 10,000.
Dario Alioto was also at this table, playing over three starting stacks.
Last year, Moulder and Alioto found themselves in the top 10 chip counts at the end of Day 1 of the $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw. Today, they are hoping for another deep run in the same tournament.
Mickey Doft opened to 1,500 from under the gun and Robert Gussoni defended from the big blind. Gussoni drew pat while Doft drew one.
After the draw Gussoni check-called a 6,000 bet from Doft. Gussoni showed a nine-seven but Doft had 7x6x4x3x2x for number two to win the pot.
The very next hand saw Kornuth, who was under the gun, put out a blind raise to 1,200 before receiving his cards. Kenneth Garen, seated directly to his left, three-bet to 3,500 and Kornuth called. Kornuth took one while Garen took two and both players checked after the draw.
Garen turned over a jack-low with Jx8x4x3x2x and Kornuth's hand hit the muck.
