Frankland Left on the Brink

Level 23 : Blinds 120,000/240,000, 240,000 ante

Mathew Frankland raised A5 in the cutoff to 480,000, and Andrew Ostapchenko defended his big blind with K10.

When Ostapchenko checked the 3QJ flop, Frankland elected to continue for 340,000, which Ostapchenko called.

The turn 10 didn't slow Frankland down, continuing for 1,100,000. Once again Ostapchenko chose to check-call.

The river brought the 5, giving Frankland a pair, but when Ostapchenko checked for a third time, Frankland chose to turn his hand into a bluff, betting 2,200,000.

Ostapchenko called, though, taking the pot with his third pair and leaving Frankland with just 360,000 chips.
