Katz Kicked Out by Winter

The flop read 8510. Nacho Barbero had checked in the small blind and Cary Katz had shoved from the big blind. Sean Winter tanked, used a time bank and then also shoved for a bit more. Barbero revealed the 8 and then mucked the rest for the fold.

Katz had the open ended straight draw but Winter held the blockers with the pair of jacks.

The rest of the board was completed with the 8 on the turn and the 4 on the river for Katz to make his way out of the tournament area.

Owen Overbets the Flop

Brad Owen raised the button to 24,000 and Scott Seiver defended his big blind.

With 201,000 behind, Seiver checked the 247 flop. Owen slid out an overbet of 80,000, causing Seiver to ponder for a few moments before making the call.

Seiver checked the 2 turn and Owen bet enough to put Seiver all in. Seiver folded quickly, and Owen flipped over 99 for an overpair.

McCully Takes Juanda Down

The flop read QAJ with around 60,000 in the middle.

John Juanda checked in the big blind, and Josh McCully bet 14,000 from the middle position. Juanda looked at his cards, his remaining stack, and then shoved for around 74,000. McCully quickly called.

Lebedev Loses All to Brannan

Frank Brannan had the AK in front of him for top two pair in the big blind while Sergey Lebedev had the JJ in the cutoff. Brannan's stack was counted and determined to be worth 332,000. Lebedev's stack was being counted and when he saw he had 284,000 behind, he got up from the table and quickly left the tournament area.
