Five Cards For Everyone! $1,500 Big O Gets Underway at 2 p.m.
Welcome back to PokerNews, the official media partner of the 2025 World Series of Poker and home of live updates from all bracelet events.
If you love the excitement of Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, you're going to explode with joy when Event #27: $1,500 Big O shuffles up and deals today at 2 p.m. local time. Horseshoe and Paris, Las Vegas are gearing up to see over 1,500 Big O specialists from around the world, but there will only be one true champion.
This is a three-day event where two reentries are permitted before the end of the ninth 40-minute level (~8:45 p.m. local time). Although there's no dinner break planned, players will enjoy a 15-minute break every three levels. If they survive 15 levels, they will return to Day 2 at 1 p.m. on June 8.
Day 2 sees another 10 levels played, with those levels increasing to 60 minutes until a champion is crowned on Day 3. Play on Day 2 continues until 10 levels are in the bag, with 15-minute breaks punctuating the action every two levels. Hungry players who made it to the end of Level 21 (~7:30 p.m.) can head off for a 60-minute dinner break.
The restart time for Day 3 is yet to be decided, so stay tuned to PokerNews to find out.
This is only the third time the $1,500 Big O event has been part of the WSOP. Scott Abrams won the inaugural event in 2023, outlasting 1,457 opponents on his way to collecting $315,203. Michael Christ is the reigning champion. Christ banked $306,884 after leaving 1,554 opponents in his wake in 2024.
When Christ was asked about the journey of winning the event over the last three days, he said, "Absolutely exhausting," and that he tries to keep his "poker sessions between six to eight hours, so I'm literally pooped right now."
As far as the feeling of winning the bracelet goes, Christ said, "It's super surreal. That excitement hasn't really hit me yet. But never in a million years did I think it would be me as the last one standing."
| Year | Entries | Winner | Country | Payout |
