Sincere Narrowly Avoids Disaster
Level 32
: Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Igor Zektser opened to 500,000 from the hijack and Paul Sincere defended from the big blind.
The flop came 7♦2♥3♦ and Sincere bet 1,475,000. Zektser announced pot and Sincere snap-called, nearly tabling his hand before Ryan Hoenig pointed out that they were not all-in and Sincere still had around 500,000 behind.
On the A♠ turn Sincere quickly got his last chips in the middle and Zektser called to put him at risk.
Paul Sincere: A♦K♣9♠6♠2♦
Igor Zektser: A♣K♥K♦4♦3♥
Sincere had the nut-flush draw and an ace-six low draw but Zektser was a big favorite to scoop with the nut-low draw and an overpair. The 4♠ river gave Sincere the best low.
"Wow. How bad am I running? I'm scoopung until that four on the river" Zektser commented as the pot was split.
