Balleur Shows Down Aces to Take Out Two

Level 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

David Litt moved all in for 60,000 from the small blind on a flop of K83 and Boris Kolev called in the big blind. Gaetan Balleur then raised to 150,000 under the gun and Kolev called to create a side pot.

The turn was the 4 and Balleur moved all in, having Kolev's remaining 210,000 covered. Kolev spent several minutes in the tank and eventually called.

Kolev showed 104 for a flush draw, Litt had 87 for a pair of eights, but they were both behind Balleur's AA. The river Q was no help to either player and Balleur scored the double knockout.

Koller Pulls Ahead on the Turn to Bust Mandara

The flop was dealt 388, Moncek check-called Chen's bet of 60,000.

When the K came on the turn, Moncek check-called again, with Chen putting 90,000 in the middle.

The river revealed a 7 and Moncek checked, after about two minutes Chen bet 400,000 and Moncek quickly made the call.

Chen showed AJ and Moncek flipped over KQ for two pair kings and eights to take down a monster pot.

The turn was the 2 and Lee bet another 75,000. Obara then moved all in and Lee quickly called for his last 200,000.

Lee showed KQ for top pair, but Lee had turned two pair with 52. The 5 river improved him to a full house and Obara exchanged a fist bump with Lee before the Malaysian high roller made his way to the payout desk.

Smirnov put in a five-bet to 455,000, leaving himself around 40,000 behind, and Zhao gave it some thought before eventually folding. Roberts then moved all in and Smirnov took a few minutes until the clock was called. His timer had nearly reached zero when he committed his last chips.

"No. 1," a tablemate said as Roberts turned over two aces. The 10J9 flop gave Smirnov some hope with a straight draw, but he improved no further on the 10 turn and J river and was sent to the rail.

"Second place?" Roberts asked Zhao after the hand, who admitted he folded two queens.

"Second place. We're playing too deep," Roberts added.

The river was the 3 and Reichenstein bet 540,000. Chen took a minute before calling as Reichenstein turned over 1010 for a set to win the big pot.

"I thought you had two pair. I'm disappointed," tablemate Frederic Normand said to him after the hand.

"I don't play hands as weak as two pair," Reichenstein replied.
